The beach live webcams here run along the Atlantic coasts of Europe and America, the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Pacific and the coasts of Australia: town beaches with a promenade, long surf beaches with a pier, coves under cliffs, and the lidos of the Italian Adriatic. What you see depends on the side of the ocean. East-facing coasts get the sunrise over the water and the morning light, west-facing ones the sunset, and both get two tides a day that move the waterline by metres on a flat beach. Summer is the season for people; autumn and winter are the season for weather, when the same beach shows a swell, a storm or a deserted shoreline under low sun. Live beach cameras are the simplest forecast there is: the sky, the sea state and how many people thought it was worth the trip, at a glance.
