Lamai is Samui's second beach and arguably its best-proportioned: a long curve of pale sand on the island's southeast, calmer than Chaweng but far from asleep. The Crystal Bay Yacht Club's live cam watches its southern end, longtail boats swinging at anchor in the shallows.
The Gulf of Thailand here stays bath-warm (28–30°C) all year, and the tide redraws the beach twice a day: wide flats in the morning, swimmers' depth by afternoon.
