About Teleported

Teleported is a window on the world as it is right now. Pick a place and you are there: a crossing in Tokyo at rush hour, a waterhole in the Namib at dawn, Atlantic swell hitting the cliffs at Nazaré. No account, no download, one click.

Where the cameras come from

Every one of our 90 cameras, in 29 countries, is a public live broadcast on YouTube, run by the museum, resort, city, park or enthusiast who owns the camera. We play them through YouTube's official embedded player, so the operators keep their audience and their revenue. Nothing is copied, re-hosted or re-streamed.

How the catalog is kept honest

Live streams go offline, and a directory full of dead links is worthless. Ours is checked before every release: an automated pass confirms each camera is still live and still allowed to be embedded, and anything that fails is replaced by hand. The Top 10 is ranked by how many people are actually watching each stream, and refreshed daily.

Every camera is placed on the world map at its real location. Cameras mounted on a train, a tram or a ferry are labelled as moving, because their pin can only ever be approximate.

Get in touch

Suggestions for a camera we are missing, or a request from an operator who would rather not be listed, are both welcome — we remove any stream on request, no questions asked.
