Beach Bars & Boardwalks
A bar on a beach is the best-placed camera position in the world, and live beach bar webcams have been a genre of their own for years: the open-air bars of the Caribbean and the Canaries, the deck bars of Florida and the Gulf coast, the beach clubs of Southeast Asia, and the boardwalks and piers of the Atlantic coast, where the bars line the walk. They show the sea, but mostly they show people having a good time in it: the crowd building through the afternoon, sunset from a bar stool, live music after dark. Happy hour is the hour to watch, around 17:00 local time, and Friday and Saturday nights run late. A boardwalk webcam works the other way, busiest on a summer morning and empty and beautiful on a winter one. Many of these bars have regulars who watch from home, and some wave.
