Casino Pier anchors the view. It has stood here since 1932, and its rides run out over the sand toward the water. Watch a while and the boardwalk's rhythm shows itself: gulls and joggers at dawn, families and funnel cake by mid-afternoon, then the ride lights coming up at dusk.
