SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
Mirrored rooms and glass ledges more than a thousand feet over Midtown, on a live webcam.
About this view
SUMMIT occupies the top of One Vanderbilt, next to Grand Central, with its main observation floors around 1,130 feet above Midtown. This live stream shares that view over the spine of Manhattan.
It is less an observation deck than an installation. Air is a sequence of rooms mirrored on every surface, floor and ceiling included, so the skyline repeats into infinity around visitors. Levitation is a pair of glass boxes that hang clear of the building over Madison Avenue, and the Ascent glass elevator climbs the outside of the tower to about 1,401 feet.
Eastern time, UTC−5. Sunset is the slot everyone books, when the Chrysler and Empire State buildings light up in the same frame; clear winter afternoons give the sharpest air.
