Renesse Beach
Renesse's wide North Sea beach in Zeeland, dunes and surf from a beach pavilion, on a live webcam.
About this view
This live cam sits on the deck of a beach pavilion at Renesse, on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland, and looks along a wide stretch of the Dutch coast: a strip of pale sand under a line of dunes, and the North Sea rolling in beyond it. The village behind has some 1,500 residents; in summer it hosts many times that number.
Beach volleyball nets and the pavilion's own terrace are the foreground, walkers and dogs take the tide line in every season, and on a windy day the horizon fills with kites. Some of the pavilions along this shore are seasonal, put up in spring and taken down before the winter storms.
Renesse keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer. The season runs from Easter to the autumn holidays, with the beach busiest from about 11:00 to 18:00 in July and August; in winter the same view is empty sand, hard light and a sea that changes colour with the wind.
