About this view
This live cam looks across the pitches of Camping Janse in Zoutelande, a village on the south coast of Walcheren in Zeeland, with the dune line and the wide sky of the Dutch coast beyond the caravans. The beach is on the other side of the dunes, a few minutes on foot, and it faces south, which is rare on this coast and the reason the village calls itself the Zeeland Riviera.
The site fills from Easter, and in July and August it is a small town of Dutch and German families, bicycles and windbreaks; the traffic in frame is people heading over the dunes in the morning and back at dinner time. On a grey day the sky does the work, and the wind off the sea shows in every flag.
Zoutelande keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer. The season runs to the autumn holidays in October, after which the pitches empty and the view is the dune and the weather; in winter the North Sea storms roll over the same skyline.
