Abbey Road Crossing
The zebra crossing The Beatles made famous in 1969, on a live webcam as fans recreate the cover all day.
About this view
On 8 August 1969, four men walked across this zebra crossing for a photographer on a stepladder, and it became the most famous album cover ever made. The crossing outside Abbey Road Studios has been mid-photoshoot ever since. This camera watches the reenactments roll in all day.
The comedy writes itself: pilgrims trying to time the classic stride between London traffic, drivers displaying saintly (or not) patience, barefoot Paul impersonators in winter. The crossing is Grade II listed: heritage status for road paint.
This live webcam is busiest from late morning through afternoon UK time, any day of the year. August 8th brings anniversary crowds at 11:35 am, the moment the original photo was taken.
