Gyeongbokgung is the grandest of Seoul's five royal palaces, first built in 1395 as the seat of the Joseon dynasty. The live webcam frames its tiled roofs and courtyards against Bugaksan mountain, a composition destroyed by war and occupation and painstakingly rebuilt, so that today it looks much as its builders intended, give or take the skyscrapers at the edges.
Watch for the royal guard ceremonies in period costume, held in front of the main gates during the day, and for the tide of visitors in rented hanbok: traditional dress earns free palace entry, so the courtyards fill with colour.
The palace grounds close in the evening, but the camera keeps rolling: floodlit roofs against the dark mountain make this one of the most serene night views in the catalogue. Snowfall here is genuinely special.
