This 24/7 live cam looks over the Ōguard crossing in Shinjuku — the junction where Yasukuni-dōri passes beneath the railway bridge carrying the JR lines out of the world's busiest station, with the neon gate of Kabukichō a few steps away. It is the seam between Shinjuku's office-tower west side and its entertainment east.
Trains cross the bridge above at a rate you stop counting; below, taxis, delivery bikes and a tide of pedestrians work the crossing in phases, and the lights of Kabukichō spill across the frame after dark. Rain turns the whole thing into a reflection.
