Makkah: Masjid al-Haram
The Grand Mosque and the Kaaba on a live webcam in HD, one of the most-watched places on Earth.
About this view
A continuous live view of the Masjid al-Haram and the Kaaba, the black-draped cube at the centre of the Islamic world, toward which Muslims everywhere orient their prayers. The tawaf, the circling of pilgrims around the Kaaba, flows day and night without pause.
The rhythm follows the five daily prayers (Saudi time, UTC+3): between them the courtyard swirls; at each adhan the movement stills into vast concentric rings of worshippers, one of the most powerful sights any live camera carries.
During Ramadan the mosque runs at extraordinary capacity through the night, and in Hajj season millions converge here. Even at 3 am local, the tawaf never stops: this feed is, quite literally, perpetual motion.
