The waterhole at ol Donyo Lodge sits on Maasai land in the Chyulu Hills with Kilimanjaro on the horizon, and it is famous for its elephants, including some of Kenya's last great "tuskers" whose ivory sweeps the ground.

Elephants drink in family processions through the dry seasons; giraffes fold themselves down awkwardly to reach the water; zebra and eland rotate through between them. When Kili's snows are out at dawn, the frame becomes Africa's definitive postcard.

Kenya runs on UTC+3: first light around 6:30 am and the golden 4–6:30 pm window are the reliable rush hours at the water. In the driest months this live webcam hardly has a quiet hour.
