This live cam watches the entrance of Camping Cap Blanch, a campsite on the seafront road at the northern end of Altea, on the Costa Blanca, with the pebble shore of Cap Blanch across the road.
Campsites on this coast fill with long-stay caravans through the winter, when northern Europeans come south for the mild months and park up for weeks at a time, and with Spanish families in July and August. The gate sees both, plus the daily traffic of bikes and beach chairs crossing to the beach opposite, Altea's old town, under its blue-tiled church dome, is a short way south along the same road.
Altea keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer. The town has some 22,000 people, on a bay the mountains shelter from the north. The winter sun is the season here, from November to March; midsummer brings the Spanish holidays and a fuller site.
