Son Muntaner, Palma Hills
Olive-green hills above Palma on a live webcam, with the Tramuntana ridge closing the horizon.
About this view
A slow view over the hills at Son Muntaner, in the Son Vida district just above Palma. The foreground is a golf course, fairways, pines and olive trees on terraced ground, but the reason to watch is what sits behind it: the dry green folds of inland Mallorca, and on clear days the Serra de Tramuntana, the UNESCO-listed range that runs the whole northwest coast of the island.
It is a quiet view, and deliberately so. Groups move across the fairways at walking pace, pines bend when the tramuntana wind gets up, and the light does most of the work: Mediterranean sun is hard and white at midday, then turns everything gold for the last hour.
Mallorca runs on Central European time. Spring and autumn are the island's own favourite seasons, warm and uncrowded, and this 24/7 webcam shows why: green hills, long shadows and nobody in a hurry. Midsummer bakes the same view brown by August.
