Zoutelande, on Walcheren in Zeeland, is the village with the Dutch coast's only south-facing beach, and the live webcams in Zoutelande show the holiday it sells: the campsites and parks behind the dune line, the dune tops and the beach on the other side, and the wide sky that turns from grey to gold over the sea in the evening. Some 1,500 people live here in winter; in summer the population multiplies several times over with Dutch and German families. The dunes here are among the highest in Zeeland, and the name means salt land, from the fields the sea once flooded.
