Between the Caribbean and the Nichupté lagoon, on the long sandbar of Cancún's Zona Hotelera, this live cam looks over the beach in front of The Royal Sands. The sand here is crushed coral, white and cool underfoot, and the water runs from pale turquoise in the shallows to the deep blue of the channel toward Isla Mujeres.
Mornings are for swimmers and joggers on the wet sand, the pool deck fills through the middle of the day, and the afternoon brings the jet skis, the parasails and the catamarans working the coast. Sargassum drifts onto the beach some summers and is raked off by morning; a norte in winter turns the sea grey for a day.
