About this view
This live webcam looks across at Manarola, the tumble of ochre and pink houses that made the Cinque Terre famous. Reputedly the oldest of the five villages, it clings to a rock spur above a cove with no beach — just a slipway where fishermen still winch their boats up onto the street.
There are no cars in frame, because there are none in the village. What moves instead: walkers on the coast path, boats working the cove, and the terraced vineyards climbing the slope behind on dry-stone walls that have held the hillside for centuries.
Sunset lights the façades head-on and is the hour to watch (UTC+1, +2 in summer). From December to late January the hillside carries Mario Andreoli's illuminated nativity scene, a Manarola institution built from salvaged materials.
