About this view
Bocca di Magra is a village of the comune of Ameglia, where the Magra river reaches the Ligurian Sea a few kilometres from the border with Tuscany. From the Hotel Sette Archi, this live cam looks east over its porticciolo, the small harbour at the river mouth, with the Apuan Alps along the skyline behind the moorings.
The river ends its course here, so the harbour sits on moving water. Boats come in and go out all day in summer, heading for the sea or back to their moorings, and quieter months leave the basin to the river and the light. The peaks behind hold the marble quarries of Carrara.
