Jubilee Yacht Club, South-West View
Moorings and masts on a live webcam at the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly, on the Massachusetts North Shore.
About this view
The Jubilee Yacht Club sits on Beverly harbour, on Massachusetts's North Shore, and this live cam looks out from its dock across the moorings towards Salem Sound.
Sailing season runs the summer here: boats swing on their moorings with the tide, dinghies cross to them in the evening, and race fleets head out on club nights. Salem lies just across the harbour, joined to Beverly by a bridge, and Beverly makes its own claim on naval history: the schooner Hannah, fitted out here in 1775, is held by the city to be the first armed vessel to sail for the American cause. In winter the harbour is bare water and the docks come ashore.
Beverly keeps Eastern Time, UTC−5, UTC−4 in summer. Some 42,000 people live in the city, a commuter suburb of Boston a half hour up the coast, and the sailing months are June to September, with the foliage on the shore turning in October.
