A live webcam over the junction of Kolomyazhsky and Ispytateley avenues in Saint Petersburg's Primorsky district, where the Pionerskaya metro station (opened 1982, on the blue line) pours commuters onto the pavement beside the Hollywood shopping centre. This is the residential north of the city, some way from the palaces: a district of wide Soviet avenues and tower blocks where the real Petersburg of 5.6 million people goes to work.
