A white stork nest built on the brine tower of Bad Salzungen's graduation works, a salt-cure spa in southern Thuringia. The camera sits level with the nest, so the birds come with the whole town behind them: red roofs, the spa park, and the church tower on the ridge.
White storks winter in Africa and return to the same nest year after year. The platform went up in 1998, and has been rebuilt since to carry the weight a full nest reaches. Between visits the view simply works as a town cam — traffic, the park paths, and the roofs going gold at dusk.
