Sea-Eagle Nest

About this view
A live cam trained on a white-bellied sea-eagle nest, built high in a eucalypt in the Newington Nature Reserve at Sydney Olympic Park, beside the Parramatta River. The birds are among Australia's largest raptors, with a wingspan approaching two metres, and this pair returns to the same nest year after year.
The feed is run by BirdLife Australia volunteers, and it is unedited nature: the adults trading incubation shifts, prey arriving, chicks begging, and the long stretches of nothing at all that are most of a bird's day.
Timing decides what you get (UTC+10, +11 in summer). The eagles usually lay in June and hatch in July, so the winter and spring months carry the whole story from eggs to fledging; outside the season the nest can stand empty for weeks.
