A sari-sari store sells everything in the smallest unit that exists: one egg, one cigarette, a single sachet of shampoo, a cup of rice.
The counter is a stage. Neighbours lean in, coins change hands, the staff reach for the shelf without looking, and the same faces come back several times a day. Between customers there is stocktaking, conversation, and the television somewhere off-frame.
