Bankerohan Market
The food lanes of Bankerohan, Davao's biggest public market, a live webcam from morning trade to late supper.
About this view
A wide view over the eating lanes of Bankerohan, the largest public market in Davao and the city's kitchen since the early 1900s. The name comes from the bangka, the outrigger boats that once tied up on the Davao River right beside it.
Plastic tables and stools fill the aisle between the stalls, tarpaulins overhead, fryers and rice cookers going at the edges. Porters cut through with sacks, tricycles idle at the mouth of the lane, and the whole thing turns over from market traders at dawn to families at supper.
On a live webcam that runs 24/7, trade starts before sunrise and the food stalls run late (UTC+8). Durian season, roughly August to October, is when Davao's signature fruit takes over the market, adored locally, notorious everywhere else.
