About this view
From a chalet on the north side of the valley, this live cam faces south down Livigno's long valley, with the village and its church in the lower right of the picture and Monte Vago, 3,059 metres, in the middle of the skyline. Livigno lies at 1,816 metres in the Italian Alps near the Swiss border, strung along some 15 kilometres of valley floor.
Livigno is a special territory outside the EU customs area, so shopping and fuel come duty free and the main street is lined with shops. The ski areas of Mottolino and Carosello 3000 face each other across the valley, and in February 2026 the snowboard and freestyle skiing events of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics were held here.
Livigno keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer. The ski season runs from late November into spring, and summer turns the same slopes into hiking and mountain-bike country. The river through the village, the Aqua Granda, flows north out of Italy and ends in the Danube, one of the few Italian valleys that drain to the Black Sea.
