LAX Planespotting with ATC

LAX is the great gateway of the Pacific: around 75 million passengers a year, and more wide-body variety than nearly anywhere in America. This live webcam watches the runways with live air traffic control audio layered in, which turns spotting into storytelling.

Expect a parade of heavies: A380s from the Gulf, 777s and 787s from Asia and Europe, plus the endless domestic shuttle. The ATC feed lets you hear clearances before the aircraft move. Aviation nerds, this is the one.

Traffic never really stops, but 11 am–2 pm Pacific brings the transpacific arrival bank, and the golden-hour departures toward the ocean are LA's best free show.
