Hart and Rendezvous Bays, St. John
Sunrise over Hart and Rendezvous Bays on St. John's south shore, on a live webcam from a hillside villa.
About this view
From the great room of a hillside villa at Chocolate Hole, on the south shore of St. John, this live cam looks east over Hart Bay and Rendezvous Bay to Ditleff Point.
Facing east, it catches the sunrise every morning, the light coming up over the bays and the headlands, and through the day the view is of water and weather: boats coming in and out of Rendezvous Bay, birds hovering over the water on the lookout for fish, and rain squalls crossing from the Caribbean. The south shore is the quieter side of the island, a coast of small bays, rocky points and villas scattered on the hills, away from the ferry landing and the bars of Cruz Bay a few minutes to the west.
St. John keeps Atlantic Standard Time, UTC−4, all year, so its sunrise comes in the European late morning. The trade winds blow most of the year, and December to April is the driest and busiest season.
