Christ the Redeemer stands 30 metres tall (38 with pedestal) atop Corcovado's 710-metre granite peak, voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and the most recognisable silhouette in the hemisphere. This live webcam watches it against the weather.
The statue plays hide-and-seek with the clouds: Corcovado generates its own micro-weather, and the Cristo can vanish and reappear within minutes. Regulars of this feed treat it as a mood ring for the whole city.
