Jackson Hole Town Square

Elk antler arches, pickups and ski racks on Broadway, in the gateway town to the Tetons.

About this view

A pizza shop on West Broadway points this live webcam at the southwest corner of Jackson's Town Square, where the town's signature stands: an arch built entirely of elk antlers. There are four, one per corner — the first went up in 1953 — and each holds some 2,000 antlers shed on the National Elk Refuge just north of town.

Broadway is the highway through Jackson Hole, so the frame is a slow parade of pickups, ski racks and out-of-state plates, with pedestrians who treat the crosswalk as a suggestion. In summer a stagecoach does laps of the square. The stream had a viral spring in 2016, when tens of thousands of viewers tuned in just to wait for a red truck.

Jackson keeps Mountain Time, UTC−7 (UTC−6 in summer), and this 24/7 feed has two seasons worth planning for: from late November the arches are strung with lights and the square turns into a snow globe, and on summer evenings a mock shootout has been staged here since 1957. Grand Teton begins a few miles up the road.
