Live Webcams in China
China's live webcams belong to the giant pandas of Sichuan: the nursery gardens of the research base on the edge of Chengdu, where dozens of pandas lounge, tumble and eat around the clock, and the bamboo mountains of the Wolong reserve, flagship of the programme that pulled the species back from the brink. The live webcams in China keep China Standard Time, UTC+8, with no daylight saving and one clock across a country wide enough for five; the pandas are most active at breakfast, around 00:00 to 02:00 UTC, and again in the late afternoon, and they nap through the middle of the day. The wild population stands at some 1,900 animals, enough for the species to move from endangered to vulnerable in 2016. Winter and spring are the seasons to watch: pandas love the snow, and the cubs born in late summer are out playing by the new year.
