Live Webcams in Tamsui

Tamsui, at the mouth of the Tamsui River where it meets the Taiwan Strait, is the town at the end of Taipei's red metro line, and the live webcams in Tamsui face the water the town is famous for: the fishing harbours and their piers, the ferry landings of the old street, and the sunsets over the strait that bring the whole capital out. Tamsui keeps China Standard Time, UTC+8, with no daylight saving; the sunset falls around 17:10 in December and 18:45 in June, which is a European morning, and the hour before it is the one to watch. Fort San Domingo, built by the Spanish in 1628 and rebuilt by the Dutch, still stands on the hill above the town; some 190,000 people live in the district. October to April gives the clearest sunsets. In Chinese the town is 淡水.
