Live Webcams in Abetone

Abetone, in Tuscany, is the ski resort of Florence and Pistoia, on the Apennine pass of the same name at about 1,400 metres, and the live webcams in Abetone show a mountain with two lives: the pistes and lift stations of its valleys, white from December to March, and the same slopes as meadow and beech wood the rest of the year, with the squares of the resort villages at their foot. Abetone keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer; the snow is best seen in the first hour of daylight, and midweek outside the holidays the valleys are almost empty. The area has some 50 kilometres of pistes over four valleys, of which Val di Luce, the highest, keeps its snow longest under the ridge of Monte Gomito. The name is Italian for a fir tree, the great one that once stood on the pass.
