Live Webcams in Zoetermeer
Zoetermeer is a city in South Holland, on the eastern edge of The Hague, and the live webcams in Zoetermeer look at one of the Netherlands' planned new towns: a village of some 10,000 people at the start of the 1960s, chosen by the government to take the overspill of The Hague and built up into a city of more than 120,000 within a generation. Its neighbourhoods of brick housing, canals and green strips are tied to The Hague by light rail, and parts of the city lie several metres below sea level, on polders drained from old peat lakes. Zoetermeer keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer, so its evening falls at the same hour as in Paris or Berlin.
