Live Webcams in Portimão
Portimão is the second city of the Algarve, on the estuary of the Rio Arade in the south of Portugal, and the live webcams in Portimão follow a town that lives on its water: the marina and the fishing harbour at the river mouth, the cliffs and sand of Praia da Rocha, the quays where the boats leave for the sea caves of the coast. Portimão keeps Western European Time, UTC+0, UTC+1 in summer, so the boats are out from about 08:00 UTC and back before a sunset past 19:30 UTC in June, and the waterfront is at its liveliest on August evenings, when the sardine festival grills its fish along the river. Some 59,000 people live in the municipality, the marina holds some 620 berths, and the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve inland brings the racing crowds to a town that was a sardine port a century ago.
