Live Webcams in Makov Rescue Station

Makov is a wildlife rescue station at Čížová, a village near Písek in South Bohemia, run since 1993 by the Czech Union for Nature Conservation, and the live webcams at Makov open onto its grounds: the aviaries and enclosures where injured and orphaned wild animals of the region recover, the birds of prey, owls, hedgehogs and deer that pass through, and the white stork nests above the station each spring. The station keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer, and its year has a shape: spring is the busiest rescue season, when the young of every species arrive, summer is fledging time, and late August is when the storks leave for Africa. Makov took in more than a thousand animals in 2024, a record. In Czech it is the záchranná stanice Makov, and the nearest town is Písek, with its stone bridge older than Prague's.
