Live Webcams in Kasugho
Kasugho is a settlement in the forests of North Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the live webcams in Kasugho look into the habitat of one of the rarest great apes on Earth: the forest canopy and clearings of the Albertine Rift, where Grauer's gorillas live and where conservation teams work to protect what is left of them. The region keeps Central Africa Time, UTC+2, with no daylight saving, so a Congolese morning falls in the European small hours. The equator passes close by, which is why sunrise and sunset barely move across the year and the forest day runs to roughly twelve hours. The drier months, June to September, are the easiest for travel on the forest roads.
