Live Webcams in Fátima
Fátima is a small town on the limestone plateau of central Portugal, an hour and a half north of Lisbon, and the live webcams in Fátima look onto the sanctuary that made it known across the Catholic world: the chapels and basilicas of the shrine, the vast esplanade that holds the pilgrimages, and the candle pyres and processions that fill it after dark. Fátima keeps Western European Time, UTC+0, UTC+1 in summer; the rosary is prayed at the shrine every evening, the candlelight processions gather on the 12th of each month from May to October, and the anniversary pilgrimages of 13 May and 13 October bring the largest crowds of the year. The apparitions were reported by three shepherd children in 1917, and the shrine now receives some six million visitors a year. Spring and autumn are the seasons to come; the great days are the two anniversaries.
