Live Webcams in Ebro Delta

The Ebro delta pushes some 20 kilometres out into the Mediterranean at the southern tip of Catalonia, and the live webcams in the Ebro delta (Delta de l'Ebre) look at one of the great wetlands of Europe: rice paddies that flood in spring, lagoons, dunes, salt marsh and long empty beaches, all at sea level and all built from the river's silt. Some 320 square kilometres of land, much of it protected as a natural park since 1983, draw more than 300 species of birds, with greater flamingos breeding on the lagoons and huge numbers of ducks in winter. The delta keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer. Rice is the crop that shapes its year, sown in spring and harvested in September.
