Live Webcams in the Bergen Line

The Bergen Line, the railway across the roof of Norway from Oslo to Bergen, is the ride that taught the world slow television, and the live webcams on the Bergen Line put you in the driver's seat: front windows of trains, through birch forest and fjord valleys and up onto the treeless Hardangervidda, where the snow walls press in on both sides and the tunnels come one after another. The line keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer, so a morning departure from Oslo reaches the plateau around midday UTC, and in winter the light is low and short up there. Finse, at 1,222 metres, is the highest station on the Norwegian network, and the snow on the plateau lies from October to May. Bergensbanen, the Norwegians call it; July shows the valleys green.
