Live Webcams in the West Somerset Railway

The West Somerset Railway runs 22 miles of steam from Bishops Lydeard, outside Taunton, to the seaside at Minehead, and the live webcams on the West Somerset Railway are placed where the trains come closest: level crossings and stations along the line, with Victorian signal boxes, crossing gates and platforms beside them. Steam and heritage diesel pass several times a day on running days, and between trains the crossing is a quiet Somerset street. The line keeps Greenwich Mean Time, UTC+0, and UTC+1 in British summer; the timetable is fullest from spring to autumn, with gala weekends bringing visiting engines. At the Minehead end the South West Coast Path begins, all 630 miles of it, and the line follows Exmoor’s edge and the Bristol Channel for much of the way. Check the running days before you settle in.
