Live Webcams in Ponta do Sol

Ponta do Sol is a village on the south coast of Madeira, some 20 km west of Funchal, and the live webcams in Ponta do Sol show the island at its mildest: the pebble beach and its jetty, the seafront cafés, the church above the valley, and the banana terraces and cliffs that frame the bay. Madeira keeps Western European Time, UTC+0, UTC+1 in summer, the same clock as Lisbon, and the sun sets over the sea from about 18:00 UTC in December to 20:00 UTC in June; the beach is used from April to October and the seafront fills for a drink at sunset all year. The village is reckoned the sunniest spot on Madeira, which is where its name comes from, and some 8,000 people live in the municipality. Winter is the season for that sunshine, when the mainland is cold.
