Live Webcams in Oahu's North Shore

Oahu's North Shore, Hawaii, is the seven miles of coast that made surfing a world sport, and its live webcams watch the waves that made the North Shore: hollow barrels breaking over shallow reef a hundred metres from the sand. Reef breaks and the beaches in front of them are what the cams look at, empty on a flat summer day, ringed with photographers when the swell arrives. Haleʻiwa and the shore keep Hawaii Standard Time, UTC−10, with no daylight saving, so first light on the surf is a European late afternoon and the last session ends around six in the morning in London. From November to February the winter storms in the North Pacific send waves of six to nine metres onto these reefs, and the sport's biggest contests wait for them; from May the water goes flat and clear enough to snorkel.
