Live Webcams in Jesolo
Jesolo, in the Veneto, is the beach that Venice goes to, forty kilometres away across the lagoon, and the live webcams in Jesolo show the sand that made it: the ranks of umbrellas of the beach clubs along the Lido, the Adriatic beyond them, and the promenade and squares behind, where the evening walk starts when the umbrellas close. The town keeps Central European Time, UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer, so a morning in America is already beach time here, and the sun rises over the sea. The beach runs for some 15 kilometres in one line from the Piave to the lagoon mouth, and in July and August its clubs fill by mid morning; from October to April the same sand is empty and the town's 26,000 residents have it to themselves. On the maps it is Jesolo, on the signs Lido di Jesolo.
