Jerusalem, the city three faiths call holy, has one spot that draws more prayer than any other, and the live webcams in Jerusalem hold it: the plaza beneath Jerusalem's Western Wall, the Kotel, where worshippers stand at the stones from before dawn until long after dark. The city keeps Israel Standard Time, UTC+2, and UTC+3 in summer; the plaza fills for Friday sunset, when Shabbat begins, and again on the festivals, and the Old City's golden limestone is at its warmest in the hour before that. The exposed prayer section is some 57 metres of a Herodian retaining wall nearly 500 metres long, most of it hidden behind the houses of the Old City. Yerushalayim in Hebrew, al-Quds in Arabic, the city is at its calmest in April and October.
