Live Webcams in Dyfi Valley

The Dyfi Valley runs from the Cambrian Mountains of mid-Wales down to a wide estuary on Cardigan Bay, and the live webcams in the Dyfi Valley look at the thing the valley is now famous for: osprey nests on platforms above the reedbeds and salt marsh, followed from the adults' return to the last chick's departure. Around it lie the peat bogs and oak woods of the Dyfi Biosphere, Wales’s only UNESCO biosphere reserve, and the small market town of Machynlleth. The valley keeps Greenwich Mean Time, UTC+0, and UTC+1 in British summer; the nest is busiest at first light and in the long summer evenings, when fish are delivered. The birds winter in West Africa, a journey of some 5,000 kilometres each way, and are back on the Dovey, as the river is spelled in English, by early April. Watch from April to August.
