Baltimore, Maryland’s port city on the Chesapeake, rebuilt its working Inner Harbor into a waterfront of museums, and the live webcams in Baltimore look inside the biggest of them: the aquarium's Indo-Pacific reef tank, where blacktip reef sharks, rays and a sea turtle cruise past the glass all day, and out over the harbour itself. It is the harbor’s calmest view, and the one that never depends on the weather. Baltimore keeps Eastern Time, UTC−5 and UTC−4 in summer; the tank is lit through the aquarium’s opening hours, roughly nine to five local, which is afternoon and evening for Europe, and the fish are most active around feeding. The aquarium opened on the Inner Harbor in 1981 and now holds some 20,000 animals. Spring and autumn are the seasons to see the harbor itself, but the reef is the same in January and July.
